How long have you been doing what you do, and how did you become a MID-LIFE COACH?
I grew up in a family where health was not a priority. AT ALL. Both my parents smoked probably 2 packs a day, were often super stressed out, didn’t exercise, had their cocktail hour every night without fail, and ate unhealthy food like (cheddarwurst sausages!!) When I was a teen, I remember thinking that when I move out, I’m going to eat so healthy and not be like my parents. Well, I didn’t at first (you know, that freedom feeling) but then I changed my ways. I took a running class first period in college and I’d have to get up early, drive all the way to San Francisco State college from the Peninsula. Because it was a college class, and I had to show up, it got me in the habit of loving to exercise first thing in the morning. On a cold December morning while attending SF State, my mom work me up one morning super early and told me she couldn’t breathe. I popped up and drove her to the hospital with my dried Clearasil still on my pimples from the night before. She kept softly saying “I’m going to die” as I was driving her in the cold, bucking car. I calmly said, not you’re not mom, you’re going to be fine. Turns out one of her lungs collapsed and she had to stay for more than a week to blow her lung back up. I am the oldest and only girl in the family so I had to take care of our family while she was gone. I was so stressed and exhausted that one day I drove all the way to school, parked in the garage, crawled to the back seat and slept for hours. She recovered, came home and continued smoking.
My dad also smoked. After my parents split, he got lung cancer. He recovered, came home, and continued smoking. Did I mention they weren’t good healthy role models?
I ended up getting my degree psychology because I love studying people and our minds I worked a number of years as a Human Resource Manager for a major men’s clothing line. During my, time in that position, I found that, beyond the scope of my job, I was talking to people about all areas of their lives, be it employment related issues, health or life issues. And people everywhere in the company came to talk to me for help, including the UPS man and the Xerox repair man . I could say that coaching came naturally to me. At the time, however, I did not realize these were the skills I was using.
I quit working when I decided to be a stay at home and raise my three daughters. During my time as a stay-at-home mom, I became involved in a popular multi-level marketing health and wellness company where we sold a fruit and veggie supplement called Juice Plus designed to help prevent diseases. During this time, I quickly rose through the ranks and was able to grow my business very quickly. Helping people decide to become healthy became my passion! In addition to physical health, I studied topics involving mental and spiritual health too with new thought leaders like Louise Hay, Wayne Dyer and Abraham Hicks. It was through these studies that I realized the power of the subconscious mind, our thoughts and beliefs.
The knowledge I gained from these sources got me so fired up. I now understood that I could choose my beliefs so I incorporated my new mindset into a PowerPoint presentation titled “Lose Your Limiting Beliefs” to help my Juice Plus distributors to remove their blocks about sharing our health products with new people who really needed them. My presentation was a total hit because it was my truth and I was authentic and fun. I was thrilled when my up-line asked me to travel and present in their locations too but I had to decline because of my kids and my husbands traveling schedule.
Then I began exploring the idea of starting a coaching business incorporating the power of our belief systems. It was something that friends and family had been encouraging me to do. I started with my 3 teenage daughters to help them use their belief system to instill confidence and self-power . I was really mindful about being a role model for them to eat healthy, exercise and have a positive self-image. So, I started taking coaching trainings to learn everything I could about the coaching business. Because of my passion for health, I became a Certified Personal Trainer, Nutrition Coach and Weight Loss Coach and worked in a local gym helping people lose their limiting beliefs that were preventing their health breakthroughs.. Then 2 years ago, I decided to finally start creating my coaching business.
During the development of my coaching program, my husband and I separated and I moved to an apartment with my youngest daughter. After only one month, I had an accident and bruised my ribs & broke my right wrist. The next day my daughter had an accident and broke her back. After intensive care, my daughter went back to live with her dad. My whole life completely changed and a painful long depression sunk in. I hadn’t prepared mentally to not be needed as a mom on a daily basis. I was hurt physically and sad from leaving my home of 22 years and my marriage of 23 years. The adjustment to being alone and having to create a new life weighed heavily upon me. I knew I needed to use my life coaching on myself and rewrite the story I had imagined for myself. I was able to recover and get my groove back and then decided I wanted to help others who need a mid-life mental makeover.
I created a Facebook Group which grew in number very quickly. At first I offered free coaching calls with the members to get experience and feel confident in my abilities helping middle aged people get unstuck to become the best version of themselves. After coaching people, I feel so “on purpose” when firing up people to transform their mind, body and soul to get healthy and feel happy to thrive in their lives. When I coach people, I intuitively somehow know what is blocking their efforts. Sometimes it’s unresolved grief that’s showing up as an ongoing lung problems, or self-sabotaging thoughts from feeling like their body has let them down, or the unconscious habits they pick up as kids that are keeping them stuck. Sometimes it’s fear of failure that stems from some life changing comment or event. I’ve blown myself away and the people I’ve coached with what transpires during my coaching program and I will do that for you too.

What makes me different from other Health Coaches?
I am deeply committed to every aspect of whole body health. Self-belief empowerment, fitness, nutrition, and spiritual health. I have taught yoga and also learned that physical ailments are often linked to thoughts and beliefs in your energy field. I am super open minded, an amazing listener, not judgmental in the slightest and not stuck in the belief that you have to do everything “my way” or you’ll fail. I am not “salesy”, annoyingly upbeat or a butt kisser. We may discover that your identity is revolving around beliefs that no longer serve you , that you could decide to release or change, but you need reassurance and guidance to gently release them. We may discover beliefs that make you feel uncomfortable or you blame me for bringing into your awareness. I give you the space and support to help you choose to create the beliefs that will help you be your best self.
I may call you out on your excuses and your “butts” but that’s what coaching is for! Awareness, accountability, support, motivation, authentic caring connection. This is what I do and who I am.

Mid-Life Mental Makeover™workshops, products and programs were created for people who are absolutely excited and dead serious about wanting to feel good, body, mind and soul . It means not running around all day long, beating yourself up anymore when you look in the mirror overeat, or think negative thoughts about yourself. They were created for you to put systems in place within a few months (sometimes weeks!), which will eventually lead you to a happier, healthier day to day version of yourself.
Being a middle aged mom myself, I’m known to work best with other women who are committed to their success no matter what, who are super-ready to get going and just want to know exactly what steps to take to create a new self image and empower themselves to feel good everyday. My clients often tell me – “just tell me what to do and I’ll do it!” Consider what you’ll do with me to be a high-octane crash course on everything you need to know to pivot in life and come out out as a rockstar. For what type of people are your programs NOT going to work?
Please know I’m very selective in who I work with and I cherry-pick my clients, choosing to (gently) turn away people who aren’t suited for my programs and won’t get the results for which they would have signed up for. (It wouldn’t be fair to them.) The Lose Your Limiting Belief programs are NOT for those who are negative, argumentative, stubborn, and close minded. They are not going to help people who aren’t willing to invest money in themselves and their future. Lastly, my programs will not help people who aren’t at the point of asking themselves, “if not now, then WHEN?”
