For starters, how often do you defer to “your age” in your thoughts and actions….”At my age”, “I’m old”, “when I was young”…. the more you tell your body you’re getting older, the more your cells get the memo and comply. So stop!
So many clients tell me they put everyone else first and they don’t “have time” for their health. You’ve heard the phrase, if you’re not first, you’re last. Then later you say shoulda, coulda, woulda. Who is always going to be with you until your very last day? Yes it’s you. It’s not unselfish.  You are worth it.  Take care of YOU first for them. Better yet, take care of YOU first for YOU.
Do you defer your “reason” for not taking care of you and your health to some outside force? Clients claim that their past is preventing them from going forward. No it’s not. That’s a cop out. The past is in the past. Gone forever. What if you chose not let that chunk of garbage get in the way of today? Say goodbye to your past. Say hello to today and reach your goals for the future.
My favorite, limiting beliefs….Had a personal training client today tell me “I can’t do that”. I told her I believe you can so try it. She did it slowly, but she did it. Easy peasy. Henry Ford, Buddha and Einstein all have famous quotes about how your thinking ultimately creates your reality. Another client said, my body will never get down to 130 lbs. I asked has your ever weighed 130 lbs? She said yes. I said, then it’s possible. If you think you can, or you think you can’t, either way you are right. Think you can’t cut the crap out of your diet, move your body everyday, and think yourself into a healthier version of you? I believe YOU CAN.
